Ios 6 mail badge not updating
What you have to do here is completely delete your email account from your i Phone or i Pad, then set it up all over again.
Because everything potentially related to your email (emails, contacts, calendars, notes) is saved server side, the risk of you actually losing anything here is virtually inexistent, so don’t worry about that.
I know for a fact this is something that may affect users using any email service, including Outlook, Hotmail, and Gmail.

But then, when you complete that one tasks and hit the home button expecting the app icon badge to go away, it’s If you’re like me you start to freak out ever so slightly, reopening the app and making sure the task it wanted you to do is done until you finally realize that the app badge is just stuck there. What seems like such a small problem, starts to slowly bug the crap out of you every time you subsequently check your phone and it’s still there, staring you in the face. Sometimes this is caused by an update to the app that you missed, so, especially if you don’t have auto-updates enabled, head to the App Store, tap Updates at the bottom right and update the app if there is one for it.
